首爾 新村 夜景, 집에서 바라보이는, 보름달이 막 떠오른 신촌의 이른저녁 야경.
A night view of Sinchon town with a full moon, Western Seoul. view from my home.
내 모든 여행의 출발지이자 종착점이며 동시에 내 인생이라는 가장 긴 여행의 시작점.
This is my hometown Sinchon located a quarter an hour distance west from central Seoul by public transportation services. Its name means `new town’. There are four universities around this town, so it’s been a cultural hot spot and reached its peak in 80’s. But it’s character has been changed later in 90’s, lost its cultural role to other towns and filled with only pubs and bars for drinks.
In 2000’s, club culture has grown very quickly near Hong-ik university, one of four universities around Sinchon. I can see Sinchon is trying to be a cultural hot spot again from then on. A fashion shopping mall, Migliore and a cineplex, Megabox have been built recently, which have one of the largest network in my country. Both of them are located just next to the recently redeveloped railway station on the way to North Korea (in the future), one stop before the central Seoul station.
It’s bustling and lively everytime thanks to students of four universities nearby, and clubbers from all over the country at night. It has lots of traveller’s Inns especially for foreigners and some office buildings as well. The Hyundai department store is still playing its role as a landmark of the town, shown in the middle of this picture. The Severance hospital where I was born can be seen in front of a hill on the left. Why don’t you visit this town? Very warm welcome to Korea!
